Due to recent changes implemented by Facebook, we regret to inform you that the Facebook Wi-Fi service will no longer be available after June 12, 2023. Please note the following:
Beginning with the next major software release, targeted for Q4 of this calendar year, the Aruba Instant On app will no longer support the configuration of Facebook Wi-Fi. We recommend modifying your network’s configuration to other portal authentication methods before the June 12, 2023 End of Life date. Proactively changing your network’s authentication configuration will allow end-users to continue connecting with your newly elected authentication method. If the configuration is not modified, end-users will be unable to authenticate via Facebook Wi-Fi after June 12, 2023.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please consult the Facebook Help Center at https://www.facebook.com/help for concerns or questions.
All customer Guest Networks setups should be reviewed, and the Facebook Wi-Fi service option should be de-selected.
To de-select Facebook Wi-Fi service on the Aruba Instant On mobile app, follow these steps:
- Tap Networks from the Aruba Instant On home page
- Select an active Guest Network with Facebook Wi-Fi captive portal enabled
- Under Security select “Customize guest portal link”
- Tap the drop-down arrow at the right-hand corner of the screen and select an alternative option below:
- Configuring Internal Captive Portal
- Configuring External Captive Portal
