Use HPE Networking Instant On Transceivers and Cables to extend your networks with tested and reliable connections. These tested and validated transceivers and direct attach cables provide additional peace of mind compared to 3^rd party connectors and have an extended warranty of 3 years when installed in compatible Instant On switches.

Fiber Optic Transceivers

Fiber optic transceivers have the advantage of running connections greater than 100 meters (300ft). HPE Networking Instant On offers options for 1 and 10 Gigabit speed long-distance runs. Based on your deployment, the transceivers can provide a secure connection to micro servers across short distances and even longer connections, such as intra-building connectivity on school campuses, different floors of a building, or various IT closets of a warehouse.

Ethernet Transceivers

Ethernet transceivers are used when the switch requires an RJ-45 port for short ethernet connections. Based on the speeds required, these Ethernet transceivers connect legacy servers or copper port devices to the network via SFP/SFP+ ports. This frees up core ports on your Instant On Switches without upgrading older hardware prior to a refresh cycle.

Direct Attach Copper Cables

Direct Attach Copper Cables (DACs) offer simple deployment for short connections maintaining stable signal quality. These SFP+ style DACs offer reliable connections of 10 Gigabit speeds required in stacking of switches or the connection of micro servers.

Warranty and Support

“Supported” transceivers refers to transceivers that have been tested with the Instant On switches for interoperability. The term “Supported” applies only to transceivers specifically identified on the Instant On Datasheets or in the Instant On Transceiver Guide. All transceivers that remain unlisted in collateral is considered “Third-party”. “Third-party” transceivers are not supported by the HPE Networking Instant On Support team and therefore quality and reliability cannot be guaranteed by HPE Aruba Networking.

Instant On transceivers (XCVRs) come with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty applies to deployments where Instant On XCVRs are installed in Instant On switches. ​To validate the replacement of an Instant On XCVR used in a third-party device, HPE Aruba Networking will test the device in a supported configuration.​

Support for networking issues and troubleshooting is offered through Foundation Care services packages sold for HPE Networking Instant On switches. Upon purchasing of Foundation Care for an HPE Networking Instant On switch, the HPE Networking Instant On transceivers installed in the switch benefit from the same 3- or 5-year warranty extension. ​
