  • 1.  2.4Ghz speed?

    Posted 08-07-2019 11:01 AM

    I deployed 3 x AP11 and 3 x AP15 in a network. Using a scanner, I can see my SSIDs with speeds of 1.733Gbps and 866Mbps on the 5 Ghz band expected. On the 2.4GHz band, I only see 144Mbps. Shouldn't I see 300Mbps?

@axthemax The 2.4GHz band is using 20Mhz so not to interfere with the limited channels. That is the reason you are seeing speeds of 144Mbps.

Does this mean, either 20Mhz or 40Mhz are assigned dynamically or is it always 20Mhz? The data sheet says: "2.4 GHz 802.11n 2x2 MIMO for up to 300 Mbps wireless data rate (Wi-Fi 4)". Up to 300 Mbps would require 40Mhz, no?

Could anyone from the team please answer the question?

    Hi @Charmacas and @axthemax ,

Yes, AP can select 20/40MHz and hence work upto 300Mbps. If it is currently on 40MHz and detects activity/noise in the background, and then it changes to 20Mhz channels

Well, I have 7 APs now and some are positioned in a basement with no noise at all and I never seen 40Mhz channels on the 2.4GHz band....

@axthemax There will be a software release that will give you this capability.
