Okay, the setup is simple. I need a controller and an outside AP.  Perhaps expand to a wireless bridge between two buildings (about 300 feet apart).
If I understand what I need (keeping it simple as possible since there will be no IT on site to help), and I am a little rusty with Aruba Hardware, last time I deployed it, I was using 225s.

I would like something fan-less, with PoE (though PoE is not a requirement, I can do an injection), so that means an 1830 or an AP11D
Then for the outside AP17, which are out of stock everywhere (found a few on Amazon).
So the questions come down to the following

    1. with an 1830 I don't need a separate gateway, it can be plugged into the modem directly and managed through mobile device like AP11D.
    2. Being that the AP17D is hard to find, and the 560 is cost prohibitive (can you mix enterprise with instant?) I know back in the day there was only one, is this just a marketing thing? So I am trying to understand if an 11D or an AP22 on the inside of the wall (where the 17D would go), give almost the same coverage. Or being in CA and putting the AP outside protected would do the job (yes I know that everybody will say not supported to put an 22 outside)
    3. If I go with a 17D and 11D those can be connected via wireless mesh, but how far apart can they be from each other. Ideally there would be 2 insulated walls between them and about 100'.
