  • 1.  APs reboot constantly

    Posted 10-15-2020 03:03 AM

    Hello,

After a powerfailure, the AP's rebooted over and over for hours.  Each reboot took place 5 to 20 minutes after the last reboot.  This has happened already twice this month. Each time the AP's keep rebooting for hours.  Last restart cause mentions "mesh point transitioned to portal" on 4 of the 5 AP's.  The 5th AP's 'last restart cause' mentions: AP rebooted Tue Oct 13 13:27:55 UTC 2020; System cmd at uptime 0D 0H 4M 0S: Mesh point eth port link up, transfer to portal   All AP's are AP12 models.

    Device information
    Model
    Aruba Instant On AP12
    Last restart cause
AP rebooted Tue Oct 13 15:48:54 UTC 2020; System cmd at uptime 0D 0H 4M 19S: mesh point transitioned to portal
    Software
    2.1.0.0 (76361.1)

Has anyone experienced this or has anyone an idea to resolve this? Any help is much appreciated.

    Thank you!
    Best regards
    OPTIMASI

@Optimasi Looks like you have Over the Air(Mesh) connectivity. How many AP's are wired and how many are meshed? Trying to understand the topology.

@GThiesen  Thank you.  They are all wired and a mesh should not be used.  Do the AP's change to mesh automatically?  I now have one AP that has 'Over-the-air connectivity', how do I get it to use the wire instead?

Hi @Optimasi , the AP will change to mesh when the ethernet link is detected to be down. Please make sure, the AP uplink is up and stable.

From the inventory page, you can verify if the AP is working as wired or mesh.

    Hope it helps.
