    Connecting AP-22's together

    Hi,

I need to implement the below design.
    AP22 Design

    AP22 Version 2.4.0
I am able to configure AP02 as an extension of AP01 (Smart Mesh).
This is working fine as far as there is no connection from the LAN port of AP02.
When I connect a LAN cable from AP02 to a switch, AP02 is disconnecting from AP01, the light is lighting as Solid Amber.

From the Instant On portal, the AP02 Ports tab is displaying :
Port is not available when up-link is over-the-air

How can I implement such design, e.g having AP02 being an AP01 extension and connecting to AP02 a switch ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Emmanuel.

I don't believe you can do what you want.  I don't recall seeing anything that allows you to configure a bridge and a mesh node is strictly wireless AFAIK.

I don't think you can do this on Aruba ION. I have had to use a Draytek access point in station mode so that it performs that function, where it is a meshed AP and a switch at the same time

    Hey Emmanuel,

This can't be done with the AP22. These APs have only one uplink port, but it can be done with the AP11D acting as a mesh point with three downlink ports connecting to a few wired devices.

So the AP11D will act as a bridge in mesh mode and pass traffic to from the switch ports like any typical AP that has a bridge mode setting.  Don't think that is anywhere in the literature.  Makes sense but most APs can do this with a single port if the bridge option is set.  AIO doesn't have this option listed anywhere and while you'd think a meshed AP could do this it makes you wonder why the other AP in the AIO line don't.  Can you confirm the AP11D does or provide a link to this capability.

    Hi,

Thank you all for your advises.

I will replace the AP22 (AP02 is the diagram) by an AP11D.

    Hi,

I have received and have installed the AP11D.
I have setup it to replace the AP02 in the above diagram.

    It works perfectly.
The AP11D is acting as a mesh point and I able to connect few wired devices.

    Emmanuel.
