  • 1.  Switch does not show IP address to to clients connected directly to switch

    when i connect a client to the switch, with a static IP it i can ping it and shows that its connected on the switch port, but does not show an IP address. i also connected my laptop and it was able to pull an IP from the DHCP pool created but only shows " - " where the IP should be. if it can pull the DHCP IP it should show it on the switch like all the other devices that are wireless.

    @RPastor A switch in layer 2 only cares about MAC address and not IP address and hence the reason that IP address are not being displayed in the portal. With wireless clients, the AP is continually pulling client information from the driver (IE MAC and IP) to function.
