Help with local management webUI password

  • 1.  Help with local management webUI password

    Posted 02-03-2021 06:59 PM
This is really strange. I set up a Instant On 1930 24 port switch and configure password for user admin.  It worked fine last week when I set it up.  But today I could not log in with the password.  Is there any way to do a password reset or recovery without performing a switch factory reset?

    Thanks,

When setting your password if you just click the "apply" button changes are saving to the running-config file in RAM. To ensure you save them into flash you must click on the save icon in the upper right side of the page so changes will not be lost if the system reboots. You might try the default admin credentials again to see if that works. The last option is to factory reset the switch and start over.

    Hello,

I have this issue too on 1930 24G. I saved the config each time but after few days, you can't login anymore. Default login/password absolutely don't work.
I got this on 125 firmware version. I did'nt try with the fresh 133.

Only things to do are reset and conf roll back. I would like to buy HPE1920S until a fixe release but I missed EOL...

    Thanks

    Hello guys,

I performed the firmware update of: 1.0.2.0 (125) to version 1.0.4.0 (133), after restarting the equipment the access password was lost, I am not able to access the switch with the configured password, nor with the password standard factory settings.

    Hello,

Juste try to reboot the switch first. I did it for switches with 1.0.2.0_125 firmware and It was enought, your own credential should work again. No need to reset it.
I don't have this issue on 1.0.4.0_133 version for now...

    Have a nice day :)

Thanks for the tip, I restarted the switch and the credentials are back, for your information, the switch has firmware version 1.0.4.0 (133).

    Hi

Just happened to me today (maybe it got stuck long ago but today I noticed) What do you mean to reboot. Hardware reboot is unplug it from power?
There is the console port  way via cli with several steps though.

PS Mine is 1930 48 port with firmware 1.0.5.0 (139)

    Hi Jim,

Have you tried unplugging the power cable and reconnecting? This should help you to reboot your device.

    Hi

Yeah did that the same day I posted here and worked. Should have been a button though instead of unplugging it. It is living at the 80s again (no buttons to reduce cost)
Where is that console port in order to be configured via cli?
