Nice one. But I've been 'caught' for doing that before - I don't fancy my chances!
That said, I quite like the QNAP QSW-M1208-8C:
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/qsw-m1208-8c - it's around £650 in UK, but cheaper than the TP-Link. There is also a Zyxel switch (Zyxel XS1930-10 8-Port) around £400, but with no SFP+ ports.
Alternatively, I found this much more expensive 10GBase-T transceiver:
https://switchsfp.com/collections/aruba-networks/products/jl563aMaybe this one is more robust. I have queried with them if it compatible with the Aruba 1930.

The only solution is.... when the wife is out, order the 10 port RJ45 10 gig switch. Select delivery day for when she is out shopping (this is crucial). Open it install it and say nothing. No one will know;)

I hear you - forewarned is forearmed as they say.
Unfortunately I need VLANs on any additional 10G switch, so it needs to be managed (lite). Fibre to PCs is not an option - fine in my rack, but I have CAT 6A throughout the house already.

Been there done it, bad idea. Just fork out the 300 for the TP-link 10gig RJ45 or equivalent as by the time you add all your 50's up it won't be any cheaper and the RJ45 boards have proper heatsinks and cooling. Your chineeseium RJ45 SFP+ have a warranty for about as long as it takes it to come from china. Or just put some HP SFP522+ or 546+ cards in your PC's and run fibre. In the end we just take the pain and run fibre everywhere. I feel your pain for a home lab though, but no cheap way at moment for 10gig unless you use old hardware and then you won't be using 9w on idle like you are with your Aruba.

Thanks TerenceT. The web page does mention about them getting hot, which is why I asked.
Whilst I could go DAC or transceivers & fibre for my link to storage (i can get 10G SFP+ or 10GBaseT cards for it) I also need to connect a couple of PCs for which I need to use Cat 6A/7. So if I avoid these cheap 10H-T transceivers I'll need another 10G switch with both connection types. It's a home rig, so I wanted to keep the cost down :-).

Any of your cheapy £50 amazon ipolex brands or any of the chineeseums will work they are all the same. However I wouldn't advise you do it as most the switches are silent and the heat generated form rj45 transceivers is very high. The port configuration of 2+2 instead of 4 aligned is not a good design for heat dissipation. I wouldn't expect more than a 1 year plus out of them before they heat soak and die or heat soak the aruba board and damage components. Try using DACS up to 15m will work. Any DACS will work but will throw the red light on the switch if not HPE firmware but will still work ok.

Hi, I'm looking to 'convert' each of the 4 SPF+ 10G ports on my Aruba to use Cat 6A/7 cables. I came across this 10GBase-T Transceiver from Gtek. Anyone know if it will work? It claims to be Aruba / HP J9150D compatible.
