Hello,

I'm new to layer 3 switches and the 1930 line. I've found that I can access the switch's web interface on vlan 1 from any other vlan I create.

Is this expected behavior? What's the use of having a management vlan which can't be configured to contact other vlans, but still provides a connection to the switch's GUI to any device on any other vlan?

1. Choose Configuration > Switch > Management > Protocol Management > HTTP-HTTPS. 
2. To enable web mode, which allows users to access the switch GUI using "http://ip-address," choose Enabled from the HTTP Access drop-down list.

I'm new to layer 3 switches and the 1930 line. I've encountered a situation where I can access the switch's web interface from two different vlans--vlan 1 of course, but also any other vlan I change the Management VLAN menu selection to.

Relevant settings:
Switch IP: 192.168.9.9 # Setup Network > Get Connected > IPv4 Setup
Management vlan moved to vlan 9.
Vlan 1 IP: 192.168.1.1 # Routing > Routing Configuration > VLAN IP
Vlan 9 IP: 192.168.9.9 # Auto-set by the switch IP above.
All ports are untagged.

When plugged into a port assigned to vlan 9, the web interface is accessible at 192.168.9.9. However, when I then plug into a port assigned to vlan 1 and change the laptop's IP to 192.168.1.x, the switch's web GUI is also accessible on 192.168.1.1.

I don't experience this with any other vlans I've created. It's like vlan 1's management privledges are being duplicated onto vlan 9 rather than moved or reassigned. Is this expected behavior?
