  • 1.  AP22 - 5 GHz radio not responding

    Hi,

    I'm labbing an Instant On setup with two 8p switches and 2 AP22s.

    I'm having an issue where it seems like the 5 GHz radio won't wake up. I once had 5 GHz showing in iiSSIDer, but only briefly. Since then, if I create a 5 GHz only network, it won't show up in inSSIDer, nor will my devices see that network. If I then change it to be either 2.4 GHz or mixed-mode, it shows up, but only on the 2.4 GHz channels.

    Region / country is set to Denmark. We are free to broadcast on 5 GHz.

    What could possibly be wrong?

    What Channels are the APs on when you don't see them and what devices are you using?

    I tried with autochannel and with channel lock.

    After a couple hours, the 5 GHz radios decided to wake up, so the issue actually solved itself.

    The latency on configuration changes is almost Meraki-like. Hopefully that'll change in the future. For now, Unifi seems like a more feature-rich and stable (??!!) product than Instant On. I sincerely hope this'll change in the future, as I personally hold the Aruba name in a higher regard. :-)
