    I'm considering bying some AP's and a 1930 switch. But I'm not sure wheter I need a seperate firewall device. And if so, is it expected any time soon within the InstantOn productline?

    It doesn't sound right to setup a switch directly to my internet gateway (media converter for fiber -> UTP)

    You need a firewall. A pfSense or OPNsense device would be the minimum starting point. I'd recommend doing a lot more research before you buy a switch and AP's that will require significant configuration, because without the expertise to design the network up front, products like these products will present a steep learning curve.

    You could use an ap11 as a gateway. It won't give you a lot in terms of firewall control, but will do the job of a simple one.
