  • 1.  Getting Wireless Intrution Prevention Out of Instant On Devices

    Hey folks!

I'm new to Aruba devices, used to work with another vendor, but we're looking for alternatives for our clients. A key feature we need though is Wireless Intrusion Prevention.

We bought an Aruba Instant On AP22 for our testing, but I'm only now realizing there's a difference between Aruba Networks and Aruba Instant On. I've already discovered the limited feature set on the Instant On device, and noted no configuration options for WIP. But in digging around, it appears that there may be some way to get more features out of even Instant On devices, if a license is purchased for online management.

So my main question, is there a way to manage Instant On devices from the cloud that also enables Wireless Intrusion Prevention on them?

If so, what license do we need to purchase? Are there multiple options?

I originally posted this on Airheads, but the employee who answered told me to repost this here instead.

Thanks so much for any input!

    Happy New Year Anthony,

Aruba Instant On is a derivative of Instant AP with a limited feature set, designed for SMB customers. There is no license or subscription needed for Instant On devices and cloud-based app management makes network setup, management, and monitoring simple and secure from wherever you are. Instant On APs doesn't support the Wireless Intrusion Prevention feature and hence no config options available on the portal. Please elaborate more on the feature set and we can pass on this to our team to prioritize based on the use case and need.
