    Hello,

We recently moved to Aruba for our core switches. We have a 48-port 1960 and purchased two R0R41B 10GB SPF+ modules for the two expansion ports on our switch. Regardless of which module in which port, we snap it in and both the port and the health LED start flashing yellow. If we eject the module, everything goes back to green. In the web interface, the port shows a status of down when the module is plugged in. Based on what I've read, it should "just work" and I don't see anything in the interface or manual indicating any configuration is needed unless you want to change the interface port speed. I feel like I'm missing something. Any guidance is much appreciated.

    M.

Hey Travis, thanks much for the link and replies! Much appreciated. I did find that the R0R41B are not compatible with our switch. We returned them and ordered S0G18As. It was a good reminder that manufacturer documentation is a better source than Google/Reddit when trying to find out parts compatibility. :D

I've found the InstantON switches accept several 3rd party SFP+ modules although they do have a warning they are not supported.  I have quite a few running the Finisar FTLX1371D3BCL fiber along with FS and Witek 10GBaseT.  None of these have ever given me any trouble and they are transferring terabytes a day.
