  • 1.  PoE Not Working on New 1830 8G 4p Class4 PoE 65W

    I am  not able to connect to a PoE Device on any of the ports on a new 1830 8G PoE Switch. I tired all 4 ports and none work.  The PoE device (AP22) I am connecting to the switch works on another identical switch and I am using the same ethernet cable. Is there a setting or something that I am not aware of or is it possible that it is just a defective unit?

    If you have the plain1830 8g with just port 1 port marked as 1 PD then that is not a POE switch.  That port is for connecting to a POE switch to power this switch when a local outlet isn't available.  The switch on the right with the greyed ports are POE class 4.  The one port on the left switch is class 3 but that means it only requires a class 3 poe port to power it.
