Yeah, you are right. Probably they started to rename the products, but did not finish. Same with the 1930 and 1960 series.
With 1960 they completely messed up the new names. In the release notes they write gigabit (for 1G), 10GBT (for 10G) and SR2.5G (for 2.5G ports -> SmartRate)...
Why not 1G, 2.5G and 10G? This would probably be too simple.
Welcome to the new HPE world...

Hi,
Yeah , it looks like things have not been updated consistently , the "HPe" product specific data sheet appears to have been updated:
https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/PSN1014567096BEEN
But On the v3.0.0 local management firmware page ,
https://community.arubainstanton.com/blogs/jamie-easly1/2022/02/07/1830
The page has 8G ,
but within the release notes, it has 8p
If we are lucky Aruba support might see this thread and fix the page & data sheet to make things more consistent 👍🏻

Hmm, not sure about the product name change. I guess someone started somewhere whit the 8p instead of 8G and it took its circles (copy paste)...
https://www.arubainstanton.com/products/switches/1830-series/ -> still 8G
Datasheet: https://www.arubainstanton.com/files/DS_AIO_1830SwitchSeries.pdf -> still 8G
8p would imho not make any sense, p was always used for PoE ports. Well, let's see....

Hi ,
It looks like Aruba has been re-branded as HP & the product name changed:

Hello
There is a spelling error in the latest firmware (3.0.0.12) of the Instant On 1830 8G switch (JL810A) in local mode.
Logon page and dashboard both state the wrong switch model:
"HPE Networking Instant On 1830 8p Gigabit Switch JL810A2"
Instead of a G there is a p. Maybe if the devs could fix this in a further version. See attached images for details
Thanks
TAC (over networkingsupport.hpe.com) was not helpful, they wanted a proof of purchase and a photo whit visible S/N, not gonna happen, I don't rip my closet apart just for a spelling error.
