Procedure to configure IP assignment for a Router Mode.

• In Router mode, for PSK based network, there is an option to choose IP assignment from both Local network and Specific to the network (default).
• But in Guest Network, user have privilege only to configure Default VLAN (specific to this network), due to Security Vulnarability and cannot configure using “Same as local network” option.

Below is the procedure to configure IP assignment for PSK based Network in Router mode:

• Navigate to the Router Site.
• Click networks are active (Networks) tab.
• Click “+” icon and configure a PSK based Network by selecting “Employee”.
• Click IP assignment and select either Specific to this network (default) or Same as local network option.
• If Specific to this network (default) is selected, it provides an IP from Instant On’s uplink VLAN.
• If Same as local network is selected, it provides an IP from the specified VLAN.

Below is the procedure to configure IP assignment for Guest Network.

• Navigate to Networks tab and create new network using “+” symbol.
• Configure the Guest Network using “Guest “ option.
• User can successfully configure “Specific to this network (default)” option for IP assignment.
• Below screenshot show the error messages when the user tries to configure IP assignment using “same as local network” option.
• This is because Aruba Instant On has privlege restriction for Guest users to assign IP address from local network as it might be a Security Vulnurablity.

Procedure to configure IP assignment for a Private Mode.

Configuring IP assignment for PSK and Guest is similar in Private mode.

In Private mode, both PSK and Guest networks are capable of configuring IP assignment from both Local network and Specific to the network (default).
