Possible Feature: Ability to configure which SSIDs are active on each AP?

I don't know if this is seen as an enterprise feature or whether it can be implemented, but from a user perspective it would be great to be able to configure which SSIDs are being used for each AP. Fore example, if you consider a building and want a certain SSID being used only on a single floor or an area like the guest lounge or outdoor areas. It can be also handy if you are working with VLANs and can't trunk a VLAN to a specific AP or want to force IoT clients to connect to a specific AP. Ideally, there'd be a matrix allowing you to select which SSID is used on which AP, maybe even separate for each band. Maybe I'm asking for too much...

@axthemax These are more enterprise features that you are looking for and taking a looking the Instant access point would get you these types of features.

Not sure even instants can do that. I have some old code. Maybe newer code can. This is a controller function like ap-groups.

I remember the term "AP groups" from Cisco WLC configuration and certainly Aruba offers identical or similiar functionality. It allowed you to do that, but for me configuration was somewhat counter-intuitive for me. I suppose at some level it is acceptable not to have all the features available to reduce complexity and also to draw a line in between product lines. Aruba Instant (not InstantOn) has been a simplified product line already in this respect i suppose.

Like GThiesen said before, this sounds more like an Enterprise feature that is not aimed for the SMB-market where Instant On is supposed to go. You will need a controller and Campus APs in order to choose what AP service what SSID and also if it should be over a VLAN Trunk or tunneled to the controller.

Ability to configure which SSIDs are active on which AP is available in Aruba Instant (IAP) (@bcrawfo2 please note) as well as Aruba controllers. This functionality is not available in Instant On, however, as this is viewed as an enterprise feature.
