  • 1.  Separate SSIDs for 2.4 & 5GHz

Is there anyway to have one SSID for 5Ghz & a different one for 2.4GHz.  I have several existing smart home devices that are already configured with different SSIDs based on what band they support, as well as range issues.  I just set up 2 AP11s tonight and can't find a way to do it.  Thanks.

@inspectorgad Separate SSID's for 2.4 and 5 are not supported today, we are constantly improving the solution with new software releases and we will keep this feedback in mind for the future.

Hi there, in regards to range issues the RF settings within Instant ON are not configurable, but rather automatically determined by ARM (adaptive radio management). With that being said the AP11s are our lowest end access points (2x2) and models like the AP12 (3x3) and AP15 (4x4) would likely see an improvement. Also, please keep in mind a lot of coverage/connectivity issues also comes down to the client(s) attempting to communicate back to the APs as the radios built into smart phones as an example are only so powerful.

    Thank you

    Hi

We are happy to inform you that Instant On 1.4 release is out and has many controls and knobs for RF including the ability to have separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Do take a look!
