    Hi Mariano,

We need more details to understand the issue you're having. Topology of the stack and how the uplink is connected. Is it connected on both conductor & backup? Is it a locally managed stack or cloud-managed? The Unit ID is kept at auto or manual if it's locally managed. Are there any reachability issues with the first switch unit?

I was able to determine the problem.

my Zabbix monitoring system uses a default template for monitoring the switch, which sends SNMP requests that are not valid for the 1960 12XGT 4SFP + Switch JL805A switch.

this will restart the second stacked unit of the switch.

the template used is HP Enterprise Switch SNMP, I removed the monitoring from the Zabbix and I had no more problems.

I confirm that I have removed the monitoring of the switch for 10 days and I have not detected reboots of the second unit in the LOGs.

I re-enabled monitoring after 10 days and I find that the second unit reboots.

    Greetings

    Hi JM52,
i have the same problem with 3 hp1960 12XGT in stack. the switches reboot 1-2 times a day.
now i also try to disable zabbix ( i use snmp device standard ) as Mariano did. Of course if this was the problem it would be really worrying.
the switch firmware is : 2.6.0 and linux 4.4.120
    my configuration is as follows

    Hi Ergon,

Thank you for sharing this with us. We have a few questions below, can you answer them for us?

    1. Is the stack managed locally or is it cloud-managed?
    2. In the case of a locally managed stack, are the Unit IDs configured on the switches?
    3. Are there any clue on the logs which shows the reason for the switch reboot? Please share with us the logs.

    Good morning

interesting to find that others have also had the same problem.
I have not investigated the problem, but for sure the default templates with this type of switch are not correct.
you should build a specific template using the correct MIBs.
I have prevented the zabbix software from running snmp queries, and have not had any more reboots. very bad as a solution but there is a lot of work on the zabbix side.

    Hello,

We are having the same issue's. We are not using Zabbix or SNMP on the switch.

When i check the logging i see the connection to unit 1 has been lost and the unit get rebooted.

The switch is local managed, 2 1960 in a stack.

Did anyone ever found a solution?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a solution. Even updating the firmware doesn't help. from my experience it is a problem that is highlighted only with the Aruba Instant On 1960 12XGT 4SFP+ Switch JL805A switches in STACK mode. I have another switch stack aruba 1960 24G 2XGT 2SFP+ Switch JL806A and I see no problems with zabbix monitoring. Greetings
