  • 1.  Different SSID - Different buildings - One network

    Posted 09-29-2020 04:05 AM

    Hi There,

Ik have the following situation :

Building 1 : Aruba Instant on 1930 Switch and a AP12.  I need a SSID for normal work with WPA2 key and as guest portal.

Building 2 : 2x Aruba Instant On 1930 Switch and a AP12. I need only the normal work SSID with the WPA2 key. The guest portal may not be active there.

Both buildings are connected with a glas fiber and are on the same network.

What can I doe doe make this happen?

A site for each building ?  Is that possible when thay are on the same network?

    Other options?

    Thanks,

@marceldejager You can create a site for each building and you also need to put each site in a separate VLAN (you will need a router to create these VLANs) in order to have this work properly. This will ensure that the Guest is only in a single building. If creating VLANs is not an option then the SSID's and guest will be at both sites, and you could create a PSK for the guest and only provide it to a single building and change the PSK frequently so it is not shared.
