Instant On - Wired

In the Web GUI there is ZERO/No way to see if any Ethernet connection is negotiated to Full Duplex or Half Duplex.

This is a very basic networking need. and has been missed over several software updates.
The PLM and Dev teams on these products are not getting their basics or network administration into the product.

We have these switch in many clients where the only way to notice an issue is to see if there are collisions on the port and transfer speed issues.
We had to swap to a procurve or an office connect 1950 to test and see that auto negotiation on link was switching to half and when forced to 100Mb FDX it began working correctly.

On the local Web GUI, in the edit port configuration, we should be able to set the port to a specific speed as shown below.

 

And also the interface configuration shows the port is auto negotiated but does not show half or full duplex.

There is NO Way to see current negotiated status and identify issues of Duplex negotiation.
You can set if it you KNOW what it need to be. 

Pass this on to your PLM & Dev.
