  • 1.  UDP-3490 packets broadcast?

    Posted 06-14-2022 03:13 PM
I installed my first 5 new InstantOn WAP's in a location and everything is working fine.  However my firewall is showing a broadcast from each AP, every 10 seconds, to udp/3490.  Why is that?  Can I turn it off?  It's not exactly going anywhere since it's the subnet broadcast address.

    Hey Robert,

I'm checking with one of the engineers on this. Once they provide me an update, I'll let you know.

I figured it was, but it's a broadcast address. So is it useful?  Are the other AP's picking it up?

I had to create a rule in my firewall upstream to not log those because there were so many.

This is used for other Aruba Instant On Device discovery and shouldn't have any impact on the network.
